Never Ending

This is pretty much just an update of what I have been up to and as you can probably guess, I have been busy working towards my final GCSE exams, as well as completing coursework for additional subjects. It has been a full on couple of weeks and the work feels like it is never ending, although it is very nearly time for me to leave school and further my education at college, I have realised I really do need to stay motivated and focused for these last couple of months to get the best grades I can. Due to my school bringing the GCSE's forward a year, I have already got GCSE's in Maths, Media, ICT, Art, Geography and Science, I'm now trying to pump out more work with the last of my GCSE subjects and AS courses. Apologies for not putting a post up sooner, but I'm sure you'll agree that its been a chaotic couple of weeks!

I wanted to say thank you so much to all the people who checked out my blog on Body Confidence and Gok Wan's new show (last blog post) I had such an amazing response and I am so grateful that so many of you took the time out of your day to have a read. I have extremely exciting news to tell you on this front and it is; Gok actually had a read and replied to me on Facebook!? I can not even begin to explain how excited and happy I was when I looked down at my phone and saw the words 'Facebook Notification - Gok Wan' I couldn't believe my luck! I had posted the link to his PA, Mark a few days earlier and I never thought I would get a reply, so as you can imagine I'm totally over the moon!

I have also received some other good news, this is school related achievements, but of course I am more than happy about this; I had to pick up my results on Thursday and if you know me, you will know that I get intensely nervous, I begin to feel sick and all sorts, I'm exactly the same before an exam too - not nice.

Anyway, I had to pick up my Finance & English Language results. For my Finance qualification, I have three exams and the scores are then added together to make a final grade. After hours of revision and hard work I am proud to announce I got an A in the first module and an A* in the second! My target grade was a C, so I feel a big sense of self pride in the fact that I proved the teachers wrong.
As for my English, we have an exam that counts as 40% and coursework that is 60% ...I somehow got an A, but I truly have no idea how I did it, I had to check several times that I was given the correct results, because again I was expected to get a B! But of course, I am pleased as I never thought I was capable, so I'm living proof that if you're determined to put in the work you will get the grades.

I am still working on my Business EPQ course, which I'm finding really interesting, digging right into all the facts and statics really has been an eye opener, I had no idea just how much influence the media had on young people. I am going to try and involve people from Twitter (@AmberrMerry) as much as possible too, secondary research certainly helps to build up the masses of information I need.

For anyone who is reading this who's younger/recently collected their results, I hope you all got the grades you wished for. Trying your best is all that really counts and honestly, I've had a few exams that I haven't done too well in, so I know how it feels to be disappointed with a grade but its not the end of the world, you can always resit or boost your grade up by pushing yourself that little bit further. It's worth it in the end, I promise.

I have been reading a few peoples blogs recently and I must say, some of them are so well written, I have mostly looked into ones that are related with bullying and self image because I think they're stories that need to be addressed and they're issues that should be spoken about. Posts like this are genuinely touching reads and I hope to do a few posts like this myself, I hope to make the littlest bit of difference.
Thanks again for reading, I really do appreciate any feedback you may have, I hope I haven't bored you!

Lots of love, smiles, sparkles and more,
Amber xo
